Job description
Job Overview
The WHS Officer will collaborate closely with the operations team at Sort Centers to implement company safety policies and ensure adherence to all relevant local and regional regulations. This role focuses on using lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools like kaizens to minimize conditional and ergonomic hazards within operational processes, sustaining a secure and healthy workplace for all Associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with site operations to enforce company safety standards and regulatory compliance in Sort Centers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean principles and kaizen events to reduce risks related to conditions and ergonomics.
- Build trust and credibility with the Operations Team, influencing change by delivering detailed risk assessments and analyzing safety data.
- Train and guide Operations Leaders on company safety policies and assist site teams in applying these standards.
- Identify best practices across sites and integrate these into the safety standards to enhance overall program effectiveness.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Proven experience with progressive responsibilities in safety and/or environmental program management within manufacturing, production, or service settings.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related discipline.
