Role Overview

The Wellness Coordinator is a pivotal leader within the Site Health team, responsible for managing the Wellness team and spearheading innovative wellness programs across Kansanshi and Kalumbila mine sites. The position collaborates closely with Fitness, Occupational Health, and Health Promotion departments to implement a comprehensive wellness strategy that promotes both physical and mental health for over 10,000 employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Wellness team and specialist consultants operating at mine sites.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly wellness plans alongside HR, health services, and wellness experts.
  • Design and implement engaging wellness initiatives such as challenges, annual events, and cross-site campaigns like interdepartmental competitions and World Health Day activities.
  • Develop innovative methods to communicate wellness information across the mines effectively.
  • Organize and facilitate sensitization programs focusing on mental health, stress management, fatigue, nutrition, non-communicable diseases, and other wellness topics.
  • Deliver presentations, webinars, and interactive sessions to enhance workforce wellbeing.
  • Create impactful informational, educational, and communication (IEC) materials including posters, infographics, videos, and pamphlets that make wellness concepts accessible and relatable.
  • Collaborate with specialists to translate expert insights into engaging and practical content.
  • Prepare accurate and timely wellness statistics and dashboards to monitor engagement, demonstrate impact, and highlight return on investment.
  • Maintain effective reporting and tracking systems within the Wellness Centre.
  • Assist with managing specialist services such as psychology, counseling, nutrition, and psychiatry as needed.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Social Sciences, Health or Allied Health Sciences, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline complemented with wellness or life coaching certification.
  • Preferred but not mandatory qualifications include project or operations management credentials, coaching or leadership development certificates, and training in social media management or digital campaigns.
  • Additional training in organizational psychology, wellness program design, marketing, or public health is advantageous.
  • Must possess ZAQA validated qualifications.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in wellness coordination, corporate health, workplace wellbeing, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with Canva or possession of diploma in Communications, Marketing, or Digital Media is beneficial.
