Position Details
We are seeking a Switch Operator (Weichenwärter:in) to start as soon as possible at DB InfraGO AG, located at one of the following sites: Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and timely execution of shunting movements at mechanical signal control systems within the yards of Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz.
- Set entire routes for train movements, including switches, track routes, and signals, facilitating the secure departure of trains.
- Maintain communication with colleagues at neighboring signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.
- Issue, receive, and transmit operational reports and timetable notifications related to train services.
- Monitor track conditions, oversee track safety, and manage track closures during disruptions.
Candidate Profile
- Hold the qualifications of a Switch Operator with strong knowledge and practical experience in mechanical interlocking systems, or demonstrate willingness to learn such expertise.
- Exhibit high responsibility, reliability, competent and informed actions even in stressful circumstances, and punctuality.
- Must have operational fitness as a Switch Operator.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
