Position Overview
We are seeking a Switch Operator (Weichenwärter:in) to join our Hamburg Harbor team, offering a positive workplace environment and supportive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, punctual, and cost-efficient railway operations within your designated responsibility area.
- Responsible for the safe execution and monitoring of shunting movements.
- Quickly and reliably report hazards, disruptions, and irregularities.
- Coordinate shunting orders and actively participate in train operations.
- Handle operational documentation and collaborate with colleagues including other switch operators and locomotive shunting drivers.
Candidate Profile
- Completed training as a switch operator with preferably some practical experience.
- Alternatively, willingness to obtain the qualification according to regulation Ril 046.2505.
- Full operational and shift duty fitness as per Handbook 107 is required.
- Knowledge of railway infrastructure and operational correlations is desirable.
- Strong cooperation and teamwork skills.
- Physical resilience especially during stressful situations.
