We are expanding our team in Christchurch and searching for a skilled Web Developer to help advance our platform into the future.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance customer-facing booking widgets, portals, and web applications focusing on responsive, mobile-optimized interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Troubleshoot and optimize online booking and checkout processes for seamless user journeys.
• Build and maintain object-oriented elements within our proprietary application framework.
• Integrate and support payment gateways and various third-party APIs.
• Implement and monitor web analytics and conversion tracking systems.
• Contribute to transforming our legacy desktop app into a modern, browser-based portal.
• Identify and resolve complex issues in live production environments.
• Engage in code reviews, share knowledge, and collaborate closely with the broader development team.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript with experience in crafting user-focused, responsive web applications.
• Clear understanding of client-side versus server-side application architecture.
• Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, C++, Python, or equivalents.
• Strong debugging and issue resolution capabilities.
• Experience integrating with APIs and third-party services.
• Confidence using browser developer tools and resolving live production challenges.

Particularly advantageous skills include:

• Experience with Jade templating development.
• Knowledge of IIS administration and web hosting environments.
• Understanding of web application security principles.
• Familiarity with Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics 4.
• Background with third-party system integrations.
• Exposure to tourism, travel, ticketing, or booking platforms.
• Involvement in modernization initiatives for legacy applications.

Work Location and Flexibility

Our office is situated in Christchurch Technology Park, and while presence in the office is preferred especially during initial onboarding and team integration, we offer a flexible working policy with primarily remote options. Exceptional candidates may qualify for fully remote arrangements.
