Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Safety Coordinator located on the Central Coast, who is eager to take on greater responsibility, make significant contributions, and influence safety practices at a growing manufacturing site. This newly created position goes beyond routine compliance checks and paperwork, offering a hands-on opportunity to engage directly on the factory floor.
Main Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify workplace risks.
- Support risk assessments and investigate incidents thoroughly.
- Collaborate with employees and supervisors to ensure safety issues are effectively resolved.
- Assist in facilitating toolbox talks, employee inductions, training sessions, and managing the Safety Committee.
- Maintain accurate safety registers, proper documentation, and ensure contractor compliance.
- Identify opportunities to enhance and automate safety systems and processes to improve overall efficiency.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess approximately three years of WHS experience with a strong foundation in safety principles and the ability to take ownership of their role. Comfort working on the factory floor and addressing unsafe behaviors with confidence is essential. Familiarity with risk assessments, the Hierarchy of Controls, proficiency in Excel, and experience working with safety management systems are required. Manufacturing background is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships are crucial.
