About the Role
Join Howdens, the leading trade kitchen supplier in the UK, as a Warehouse Person contributing significantly to the success of your local depot. In our in-stock business, maintaining optimal warehouse organization and safety is crucial to ensure our trade customers receive their orders promptly and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload incoming deliveries and carefully verify stock in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform daily inspections and checks on forklift trucks and other equipment.
- Secure and prepare stock correctly for dispatch to customers.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and keep precise stock records.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse environment by managing stock rotation effectively.
- Provide professional and courteous support to trade customers.
- Assist with deliveries, collections, and general warehouse tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the wider depot team to ensure smooth operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid forklift license is preferred but not mandatory.
- Good understanding of inventory control and health and safety standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when handling stock and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Competent literacy, numeracy, and time-management skills.
- Customer-oriented approach with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Effective communication and sound organizational and planning abilities.
- Dependable, hands-on attitude, with pride in maintaining a safe and well-organized warehouse.
