About the Role
Zahr Freighters in Dubai is seeking a responsible and well-organized Storekeeper to oversee daily inventory and storage operations. This role involves managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of materials while ensuring inventory records are accurate. The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, physical capability, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with warehouse and logistics personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive goods, tools, and supplies and verify quantities against documentation.
- Inspect received items for damage and report any inconsistencies promptly.
- Organize and store materials properly in designated areas.
- Keep precise inventory and stock records.
- Distribute materials to authorized personnel based on approved requests.
- Prepare goods for dispatch, delivery, or internal transfer as necessary.
- Perform regular physical stock checks and assist with audits.
- Investigate stock discrepancies such as shortages, excesses, or damages.
- Manage inventory data using Excel, ERP, or other inventory management software.
- Maintain thorough records of goods received, issued, transferred, or returned.
- Ensure that frequently used and fast-moving items are easily accessible.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
- Maintain correct labeling and systematic organization of stored materials.
- Coordinate activities with logistics, procurement, finance, drivers, and warehouse teams.
- Keep the storage area clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Follow company protocols for handling, storing, and controlling inventory materials.
- Handle sensitive or fragile materials with care and maintain confidentiality of operational data.
- Assist in preparing inventory reports and related documentation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in Logistics, Warehouse Management, or Business Administration is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, Inventory Assistant, or similar role preferred.
- Experience in freight, logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and stock management principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and ERP or inventory management systems.
- Good numerical abilities and record-keeping skills.
- Strong focus on accuracy and detail.
- Physically fit and capable of safe material handling.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and fulfill daily operational duties.
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible work attitude.
