About the Role
As a Warehouse Operator reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, your main duties will involve managing material flow and inventory movements among the warehouse, production area, staging sections, and customer sites. This role demands a mix of computer proficiency and physical stamina to support various warehouse functions including receipt, production assistance, shipping, inventory control, and system updating.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid the Warehouse Supervisor by overseeing receiving, production support, shipping, and inventory processes.
- Handle receipt tasks such as unloading shipments, inspecting materials, sampling, and storing ingredients, packaging, and finished products delivered to the plant.
- Support production by ensuring a steady supply of raw materials and packaging to production lines.
- Conduct cycle counts, reconcile inventory records, monitor transactions, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Manage documentation and properly file goods receipt details using online systems like QAD and HMM.
- Balance multiple tasks including packing, picking, and receiving with efficiency.
- Operate Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) equipment if experienced.
- Unload pallets, crates, and cartons from shipping containers.
- Work safely within a chemical environment dealing with Class 3 Dangerous Goods and preparing shipments for overseas air transport.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization applying Lean techniques such as 5S, FIFO, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Follow strict adherence to corporate and legal Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess at least a NITEC or Higher NITEC qualification plus a minimum of two years experience in warehouse, freight forwarding, or logistics preferably within the chemical industry.
- A background in aerospace is advantageous.
- Holding a valid forklift license is preferred.
- Basic computer skills required for system operations.
- The ability to work independently with initiative and eagerness to learn is essential.
- Capable of building effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
