Job Overview

The Warehouse Manager will oversee the whole warehouse operation, including leading staff, providing training, and ensuring inventory processes run smoothly. Responsibilities also include managing stock receipt, assisting logistics with dispatch, and liaising with contractors to fulfill requirements. The role mandates sobriety—staff must not operate under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise warehouse personnel, including training and performance management.
• Process weekly payroll submissions for warehouse employees.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance activities for warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Conduct internal training and authorize certified lift truck operators.
• Coordinate up to three teams of six to eight members to execute operational tasks efficiently.
• Oversee inbound stock receipt and monitor inventory flow to production.
• Manage outbound goods storage and shipment to meet production and sales demands.
• Collaborate closely with production and logistics to plan daily operations and dispatch scheduling.
• Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards by all warehouse staff.
• Optimize workforce scheduling to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Maintain accurate and organized dispatch record files.
• Advise management on operational improvements and issues.
• Implement security protocols to protect warehouse assets and activities.
• Conduct annual physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
• Plan and implement warehouse layout improvements; supervise equipment inspections and repairs.
• Coordinate with store managers to guarantee timely delivery of goods to retail locations.
• Participate actively in management meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least three years of experience working within warehouse environments.
• Tertiary education in Business Administration or relevant professional certification.
• Previous experience managing and scheduling delivery teams.
• Certification as a lift truck operator.
• Good knowledge of warehousing procedures and standards.
• Proficiency in computer usage and data entry for inventory management.
