Key Responsibilities

• Administer warehouse and manual handling plans and operations for distribution facilities.
• Receive, sort, and process incoming and outgoing cargo, parts, and supplies adhering to schedules, procedures, and regulations.
• Verify cargo receipt and issuance against relevant documentation with accuracy.
• Manually load/unload materials onto pallets and shelves, ensuring correct storage allocation.
• Load cargo into vehicles or containers, applying necessary strapping and padding using hand tools.
• Manage cargo movement compliant with regulations and update shipment statuses as required.
• Assist in conducting stock counts, reconciling discrepancies, and monitoring order processing timelines.
• Maintain inventory records, perform stock audits, and ensure stock levels remain within set thresholds.
• Update computerized systems with logs, packing lists, invoices, and other shipping documents.
• Ensure raw materials and finished products flow efficiently between production and warehousing with necessary reporting.
• Oversee proper handling of cargo during receiving and order processing, ensuring packaging aligns with specifications.
• Identify recurrent issues in warehouse operations and propose efficiency improvements to reduce cost and speed up service.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed.
• Manage warehouse activities related to material movement, tool usage, and packaging processes.
• Pack shipments according to defined specifications and verify goods during receiving and scanning processes.
• Supervise transshipment and sorting functions within centers.
• Operate forklifts, both gas and electric, for stacking, loading, and unloading tasks.
• Consolidate shipments and perform unit load device operations.
• Coordinate detailed food handling operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns in compliance with food safety and customer standards.
• Monitor and log temperatures for inbound, storage, and outbound food products, initiating corrective actions for deviations.
• Ensure proper segregation and storage of food to prevent contamination, damage, expiry, and complaints.
• Check product condition, packaging, labelling, expiry, and batch details throughout the handling process.
• Maintain thorough food handling records including hygiene audits, temperature logs, and customer-specific documentation.
• Support hygiene inspections and uphold cleanliness and sanitation in food handling areas and equipment.
• Ensure employees adhere to personal hygiene, use of PPE, and other food safety practices.
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality assurance, and customers on food safety, audits, and improvements.
• Facilitate staff training on food safety, hygiene, cold chain handling, temperature control, and manual handling techniques.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience/qualification.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred or mandated food handling and safety certifications, depending on customer and local regulations.
• Proficient knowledge of basic food hygiene, HACCP principles, GMP, cold chain management, temperature monitoring, allergen prevention, cleaning/sanitation, personal hygiene, expiry control, and product traceability.
