Overview

The Waiter position at Kempinski Hotels in Doha, Qatar focuses on delivering an impeccable and refined dining experience. This role operates within a luxury culinary environment where service is elevated to an art form, demanding extensive culinary knowledge, excellent etiquette, and the foresight to anticipate guests’ expectations.

Primary Duties

• Develop an expert understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, culinary heritage, allergens, and ideal beverage pairings such as wines and cocktails.
• Carry out formal service with precision, including serving from the left, clearing from the right, flawlessly pouring beverages, and synchronized service ensuring all guests are served simultaneously.
• Adapt service style based on guest mood and occasion, attentively addressing needs such as prompt napkin replacement and table tidying discreetly during courses.
• Enhance guest experience through upselling by guiding patrons through menu options, detailing chef-curated tasting menus, and recommending select premium drinks to elevate both enjoyment and revenue.
• Maintain clear communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff about special dietary needs, timing requests, and order modifications to ensure flawless service flow.
• Prepare dining settings by meticulously polishing and arranging silverware, glassware, and plates to exacting fine-dining standards.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Demonstrated experience in waiting tables within upscale, fine dining, or Michelin-starred establishments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fine wines, premium spirits, luxurious ingredients like truffles and caviar, and culinary terms.
• Strong interpersonal skills incorporating poise, articulate communication, emotional intelligence to interpret guest cues, and composure under pressure.
• Immaculate grooming and adherence to uniform standards, ensuring professional appearance.
• Physical endurance to stand and move gracefully for extended periods while handling heavy serving equipment.
