Role Overview
The VoidZero team develops open-source tools, including projects like Vite, which enhance the modern web and are widely trusted by developers. This role involves improving the VoidZero project suite (such as Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, Vite+), aiming to boost developer productivity by shipping new features, collaborating across communities, and enhancing performance and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy features that enhance developer toolsets.
- Collaborate within the open-source community to increase adoption and ease of onboarding.
- Optimize tools for reliability, speed, and user satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript development.
- Strong enthusiasm for open-source projects and engaging developer communities.
- Experience in framework development, developer tooling, or infrastructure products.
- Keen product insight with attention to developer experience.
- Capable of deep investigation, debugging complex or unclear issues, and making evidence-based decisions.
- Comfortable working remotely across multiple time zones.
- Excellent written communication and a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Rust programming language is highly valued.
- Experience maintaining open-source projects.
- Familiarity with compilers, bundlers, test runners, and caching mechanisms.
- Understanding of VoidZero tools such as Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, Oxc, and Vite+.
