VMware Horizon Engineer (m/w/d) – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure & Automation

As a VMware Horizon Engineer, you will hold technical responsibility for building, managing, and enhancing virtual desktop infrastructures based on VMware Horizon technologies. Responsibilities

• Manage, optimize, and scale production VMware Horizon environments, including profile management.
• Integrate FSLogix solutions for profile and container management, including application masking.
• Operate and administer Windows Distributed File System (DFS) to support distributed file systems.
• Troubleshoot issues, enhance performance, and ensure availability within complex VDI landscapes.
• Automate operational, deployment, and management workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, or Desired State Configuration (DSC).
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Document system architecture, configuration details, and operations procedures.
• Maintain close communication with international stakeholders fluent in English at C1 level.

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in VMware Horizon technologies, focusing on profile management and application masking features.
• Experience with Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) and Roaming Profiles.
• Proficiency with VMApp Volumes technology.
• Knowledge of end-user monitoring tools such as LoginVSI and ControlUp.
• Hands-on experience with FSLogix.
• Familiarity with Windows Distributed File System (DFS).
• Good foundational understanding of DevOps methodologies and processes.
• Automation proficiency using PowerShell, PowerShell DSC, and Ansible.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
