Job Overview

The VMC Operator at Tushar Trans Equipment Pvt. Ltd. is responsible for the operation and setup of Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) CNC machines to produce precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, production schedules, and quality standards. The role encompasses machine operation, tool setup, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintaining efficient production performance.

Key Duties

• Operating VMC CNC machines to fabricate components as per engineering designs and specifications.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining instructions accurately.
• Setting up jobs, fixtures, cutting tools, and workpieces based on production requirements.
• Loading and running CNC programs, ensuring their correctness prior to machining.
• Performing tasks such as tool setting, aligning workpieces, offset configurations, and compensating for tool wear.
• Monitoring machining processes and adjusting cutting parameters as necessary.
• Inspecting finished parts using precision instruments including vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
• Ensuring components meet dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and quality standards.
• Detecting machining defects, tool degradation, machine alarms, and any operational anomalies.
• Conducting routine machine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication following company guidelines.
• Maintaining records of production output, inspection data, and tool usage.
• Adhering to safety protocols, implementing 5S workplace organization, and upholding company quality criteria.
• Collaborating with quality control and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist trade, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience working with VMC CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Familiarity with CNC control systems like Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and fundamental knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Understanding of cutting tools, machining parameters, and tool/work offsets.
• Experience operating precision measuring tools.
• Basic troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Awareness of production quality standards and occupational safety regulations.

Experience

• Open to freshers holding an ITI or Diploma with fundamental CNC/VMC training.
• Experienced candidates generally possess between 1 and 5 years of VMC operation experience depending on job complexity.
