VMC Machine Operator

Job Overview

As a VMC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining vertical machining center equipment to produce precision parts. This role includes interpreting engineering drawings, managing machine parameters, and ensuring the production adheres to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare machines by loading raw materials, securing components with appropriate clamps and fixtures, and installing cutting tools.
• Operate vertical machining centers by running programmed instructions, adjusting feed rates and spindle speeds to optimize performance, and continuously monitoring the machines to avoid errors.
• Configure tool and work offsets as well as modify basic G-code or M-code parameters when necessary to ensure machining accuracy.
• Conduct detailed inspections of finished products utilizing precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure compliance with blueprint specifications.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness, regularly check coolant levels, and promptly report any mechanical issues or malfunctions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational background in ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, or Machinist disciplines.
• Minimum of three years experience in a manufacturing environment or machine shop with hands-on operation of machinery.
• Deep understanding of engineering drawings, metal material characteristics, and foundational programming for CNC operations.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of protective equipment and compliance with factory safety regulations.
