The Global Voice is a geopolitics-focused media house providing global coverage framed from an Indian perspective. The organization aims to engage viewers through compelling and insightful video content.
Role Overview
We are seeking an in-office Video Editor responsible for the entire video production output of The Global Voice. This role involves editing a diverse range of content including long panel discussions, podcast recordings, interviews, short reels, social clips, and motion graphics. Your work will go beyond basic editing to shaping the visual identity and viewer experience of our publication.
Responsibilities
- Edit long-form videos such as panel discussions and podcasts ranging from 30 to 90 minutes each.
- Produce short-form clips, reels, and social media edits tailored for platforms like Instagram, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter).
- Create consistent motion graphics including lower thirds, title cards, and other visual elements aligned with The Global Voice's branding.
- Incorporate AI-driven video tools like Descript, Runway, CapCut AI, and Adobe Firefly into everyday editing workflows to enhance productivity.
- Manage the entire production process from footage ingestion to final upload.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to maintain visual consistency across video and static materials.
- Develop and iterate repeatable short-form video formats that effectively grow the audience on social media platforms.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing both long-format video edits and social media short clips; portfolios are mandatory for consideration.
- Expertise with professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong storytelling skills with acute sense for pacing to keep viewers engaged.
- Regular user of AI video tools integrated as essential workflow components rather than gimmicks.
- Capability to produce polished 45-minute edits with motion graphics and audio finishing within a single working day.
- Interest and understanding of current affairs in news and geopolitics to provide contextual editing relevance.
- Availability to start immediately and work on-site in North Goa, Goa.
Exclusions
- Candidates who work slowly or take too long to deliver short clips are not suited for this role.
- Applicants who claim AI tool proficiency without actual finished work demonstrating it will not be considered.
- Those requiring detailed micromanagement on every frame are discouraged.
Performance Milestones
- Within 30 days, content delivery is punctual and scheduled without follow-ups; efficient AI workflows genuinely cut down editing time, enabling a fully finished 45-minute panel piece per day.
- Within 60 days, the editor can cite specific clip metrics such as watch time and audience reach, showing consistent growth in YouTube engagement and successfully running a self-developed short-form video format with continuous iterations based on data insights.
Compensation and Location
Salary up to 540000 INR per annum, with immediate joining required on location in Goa.
