Job description
Role Overview
The Video Editor will be responsible for crafting and refining top-quality video content tailored for digital channels, marketing initiatives, social media, and other communication purposes. This position collaborates extensively with creative, marketing, design, and content teams to ensure videos are both engaging and visually compelling.
Primary Duties
- Edit and assemble raw video footage into polished final products.
- Organize and sequence clips in line with project goals.
- Incorporate effects such as transitions, graphics, subtitles, music, and sound effects.
- Enhance video quality through adjustments to color grading, lighting, and audio levels.
- Produce diverse video content for social networks, websites, adverts, presentations, and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure adherence to brand standards to maintain consistent visual aesthetics.
- Coordinate closely with marketing, content, design, and creative units.
- Review scripts, storyboards, and creative briefs prior to starting edits.
- Choose appropriate footage, musical tracks, graphical elements, and visuals.
- Adapt videos into various formats and dimensions suitable for multiple digital platforms.
- Implement modifications based on client or internal feedback.
- Maintain organized storage of video files, assets, and media resources.
- Meet production deadlines and maintain adherence to scheduling.
- Keep abreast of current editing practices, industry trends, and new digital content standards.
- Provide support on other creative multimedia projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Multimedia, Visual Arts, Communications, or related areas.
- Prior experience in video editing, multimedia production, or content creation is favored.
- Competency with software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable tools.
- Solid grasp of video editing techniques, motion graphics, transitions, color correction, and audio editing.
- Understanding of video formats, resolutions, codecs, and platform specifications.
- Keen visual sensibility, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend creative briefs and convert concepts into impactful visual stories.
- Efficient time management skills with capability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and effective collaboration within teams.
- Ability to multitask on several projects and manage revisions effectively.
- Awareness of social media video trends and content formatting requirements.
- Professionalism, creativity, organization, and a proactive work ethic.
