My Startup Valley is a community-centric platform designed to unite founders, investors, mentors, and ecosystem enablers through curated networking and collaboration. The organization emphasizes high-caliber interactions, from mixers for founders to profound discussions, aimed at supporting ambitious entrepreneurs in building, funding, and expanding their startups. By creating optimal connection opportunities, it accelerates startup development through meaningful exchanges and shared insights, strengthening the startup ecosystem while facilitating early-stage companies' access to capital, expertise, and opportunities.
Role Overview
The Venture Capital Scout role involves identifying and evaluating promising early-stage startups and connecting them with appropriate investors within the community. Based in Kochi, this hybrid position requires both in-person presence and flexible remote work. Daily responsibilities include sourcing and monitoring startup leads, participating in ecosystem events, engaging with founders, and maintaining an active pipeline of startups ready for funding consideration. The scout works closely with founders to comprehend their business models, crafts succinct profiles and investment summaries, and assists in arranging meetings between startups and potential investors. Additional duties include contributing to community-building efforts, gathering market insights, and sharing knowledge internally to enhance deal flow and overall community impact.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong analytical skills for assessing startup markets, business models, and traction.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with founders, investors, and ecosystem collaborators.
- Understanding of venture capital mechanisms, early-stage financing, and critical startup performance metrics.
- Efficient organizational and pipeline management capabilities to track leads, maintain records, and prioritize prospects.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid setting with a balance of in-office engagement in Kochi and remote activities.
- Prior involvement with startups, accelerators, or investment communities is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Dedication to inclusive and equitable practices fostering a welcoming environment for diverse founders.
