About the Role
Join Royal Mail at the Craigavon Workshop as a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician on a permanent basis. As part of the UK's largest and greenest fleet operator, you will maintain and repair a variety of vehicles including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). This role involves working a rotating shift pattern with 39.5 hours per week excluding meal breaks, which include alternating start times of 07:00-15:30 and 08:30-17:00. Additionally, you will work one Saturday in every three weeks with a weekday off in lieu.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diverse vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
- Utilize your personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs on light and heavy goods vehicles.
- Operate with access to specialized tools and shared equipment within a modern, fully equipped workshop environment.
Candidate Profile
- Hold Level 3 qualification in Light or Heavy Vehicle mechanics or an equivalent advanced qualification.
- Possess proven experience as a vehicle technician working on a broad spectrum of vehicles, including LCVs and HGVs.
- Hold a valid full manual UK driving license; possession of an HGV license with trailer experience is preferred.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure tasks are completed effectively and to a high quality.
- Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate shift rota changes and collaborate actively within the team.
