Job description
Role Overview
A reputable UK organisation seeks a VAT Manager to join its expanding in-house tax team based in Milton Keynes, with hybrid working opportunities (3 days per week onsite). This strategic position entails delivering diverse VAT advisory services, partnering with business teams, and contributing to substantial transformation projects, including a key SAP system implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver VAT advisory services across multiple UK business units and activities.
- Lead complex VAT advisory initiatives and support key strategic projects.
- Manage Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM) arrangements to ensure their effectiveness and compliance.
- Act as a trusted business advisor collaborating with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to a significant SAP transformation program through tax technology enhancements, optimization of systems, and process enhancements.
- Identify and implement improvements in VAT-related processes, controls, and governance.
- Assist with VAT risk management and liaise with HMRC as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise in VAT advisory gained either within industry or professional practice.
- Excellent technical knowledge of VAT, with a focus on practical and commercial solutions.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
- A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience with Financial Services VAT and PESM methods is advantageous but not required.
