Vascular Technologist

Overview

The Vascular Technologist plays a key role in conducting non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations and blood pressure assessments to aid in the diagnosis of peripheral vascular diseases and other vascular conditions.

Core Duties

• Participate in departmental training programs to develop expertise in diagnostic vascular ultrasound and related non-invasive vascular assessments.
• Prepare detailed written and illustrative reports based on diagnostic findings.
• Follow established protocols to ensure accurate performance of all vascular ultrasound and related procedures.
• Complete assigned training modules under guidance from a senior vascular technologist.
• Conduct non-invasive vascular tests under supervision by senior technologists and vascular physicians.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding procedures and findings.
• Fulfill duties delegated by senior vascular technologists and assist in the operational management, including planning and administration of the department.
• Support departmental research initiatives as needed.
• Maintain smooth daily operations of the vascular unit.
• Ensure all vascular diagnostic equipment is kept in good working condition.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support diagnosis and management of arterial and venous diseases.
• Efficiently manage personal schedule to complete scans and reports promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a degree or diploma in a healthcare-related discipline, ideally with experience as a vascular technologist or medical sonographer.
• Registered Nurse status with 2-3 years of nursing experience is preferred.
