About the Role and Employer

SSP America operates a variety of authentic and culturally inspired restaurants within Miami International Airport in Miami, FL, featuring brands like Chick-Fil-A, Jackson Soul Food, and IceBox. We are looking for Utility/Dishwasher team members to play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our establishments for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a welcoming atmosphere by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing work spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment including floors, walls, ceilings, windows, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, counters, and storage areas.
• Properly dispose of waste in designated locations.
• Clear and reset dining tables between guest seatings and transport dirty service ware to the kitchen.
• Scrape leftover food from dishes, pots, and pans; wash by hand or load dryers; return cleaned items to storage.
• Use appropriate chemicals, possibly heavy equipment, to sanitize equipment according to sanitary regulations.
• Provide assistance to guests by responding to special requests and communicate their needs to supervisors or servers.
• Unload and load supply trucks, moving inventory between storage and workspace.
• Manage stock by dating, rotating, and monitoring food item temperatures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Preferably have a minimum of 6 months experience in retail or food service environments.
• High school diploma is preferred but not mandatory.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Must be proficient in English to understand instructions and interact with guests.
• Experience handling guest service-related issues is beneficial.
• Possession of a food handler’s permit and brand certification, when required by law.
• Capability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
