Position Overview
The Utility Yard Worker plays a key role in facility upkeep by performing various maintenance and janitorial tasks focused on keeping the plant's grounds orderly and clean. This role is designated for the second shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply paint to equipment and buildings as part of preventive maintenance efforts.
- Ensure clean and tidy areas surrounding dumpsters by collecting trash and emptying and sanitizing waste bins.
- Clean interior plant spaces such as showers, restrooms, and breakrooms.
- Observe and adhere to all company safety protocols and regulations.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Preferred candidates have experience in manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural environments.
- Previous maintenance or janitorial work is advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate well within a team setting.
- Dependability and reliability are essential.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position exposes employees to several environmental conditions including frequent exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, temperature extremes, biohazards, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment. Travel to offsite locations may also be required occasionally.
Physical demands include frequent sitting, walking, manual dexterity for handling tools and machinery, climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and the use of senses such as sight and hearing for communication and hazard detection. Employees will also regularly lift weights up to 50 pounds.
