Utility Worker

About the Role

Join Crestline Hotels & Resorts as a Utility Worker responsible for executing cleaning projects aligned with hotel standards. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and functionality of equipment in Dishwashing, Kitchen, Cafeteria, Compactor, and Storage zones. Additionally, assist with other stewarding duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to and anticipate guest needs, maintaining courteous and positive interactions irrespective of workload or time.
• Foster excellent guest relations by being knowledgeable about hotel amenities and local attractions to accurately address inquiries and resolve complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Maintain sanitation, organization, and cleanliness within assigned workspaces, using appropriate cleaning chemicals in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Organize work stations with necessary supplies and equipment, replenishing as required and reporting any shortages to supervisors.
• Inspect and maintain dishwashing machinery, including chemical levels, temperature settings, and operational standards; report anomalies promptly.
• Prepare dishwashing areas by removing residual food debris, sorting wares correctly, and ensuring dishwashing machines are used efficiently and only when fully loaded.
• Carefully inspect washed wares for cleanliness, rewashing when standards are unmet, and properly store cleaned items to prevent damage.
• Regularly change water and filters in dishwashing machines; monitor chemical and water consumption to maximize efficiency.
• Clean and maintain garbage disposal systems, kitchen equipment, pots, pans, and utensils; promptly address spills in kitchen and work areas.
• Use appropriate tools and chemicals to clean various floor surfaces and maintain storage areas by organizing, cleaning, and removing misplaced items.
• Efficiently handle waste management tasks including transporting garbage to dumpsters, cleaning compactor areas, and adhering to recycling protocols.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
• Comply rigorously with all health, sanitation, and safety regulations set by the hotel and health department.
• Prepare and restock work areas to ensure smooth transitions for subsequent shifts.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or an equivalent vocational qualification is required.
• Prior experience in a hotel or restaurant dishwashing or janitorial role is preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and chemical handling protocols is essential.
• Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision.
