Overview
Under the guidance of a Janitorial Supervisor or Manager, the General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across buildings and associated areas, ensuring excellent customer service and adhering to proper cleaning standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors and staircases.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly.
- Maintain cleanliness of sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
- Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and shared spaces.
- Empty trash containers, replace liners, and clean receptacles when necessary.
- Dust and clean office desks and furniture, provided they are not cluttered.
- Clean windowsills and window surfaces.
- Keep janitor closets organized, clean, and safe.
- Ensure janitorial equipment is clean, safe, and functional.
- Follow proper chemical labeling, dilution, and usage procedures.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Maintain vending closets in a neat, safe, and organized state.
- Carry out other routine maintenance tasks as assigned.

- Collaborate with leaders and key stakeholders.
- Engage with employees across the organization as needed.
- Interact with customers, visitors, and clients professionally.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum six months of experience in customer service or facility-related services.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is advantageous.
- Experience with floor care is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good client and customer service aptitude.
- Capability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.
- Keen attention to detail.
Physical and Work Environment
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying physical positions such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, and performing repetitive motions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
