Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Utilities Technician to support operations and maintenance of essential utility systems at a regulated manufacturing site in Tuas, Singapore. This entry-level technical position focuses on regular monitoring, preventive upkeep, basic troubleshooting, and documentation of utility equipment, ensuring adherence to cGMP and Environmental Health & Safety guidelines. The role requires working 12-hour rotating shifts and is contracted until 31st December 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor utility equipment such as boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units following prescribed procedures.
- Conduct equipment inspections and log operational data accurately.
- Report any abnormalities promptly and assist with corrective measures under guidance.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and support basic repairs.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers during maintenance shutdowns and other activities.
- Maintain precise maintenance records and documentation in compliance with cGMP, EHS, and site standards.
- Engage in site audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives as needed.
- Observe strict safety protocols to foster a safe work environment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, ITE Certificate, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Facilities Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, chemical, process manufacturing, semiconductor, power generation, or similar industries.
- Fundamental knowledge of utility systems including boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and AHUs.
- Ability to adhere to standard operating and maintenance procedures.
- Proficient documentation and record-keeping capabilities.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Preferred Competencies
- Exposure to GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance schedules and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Basic troubleshooting and fault detection skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Understanding of EHS criteria and safe working practices.
