Job description
About Walkr
Walkr is a company that encourages people to transform their typical calls and meetings into walking sessions. Initially a small Chrome extension highlighting walk-friendly meetings in Google Calendar, Walkr is evolving towards a larger vision of making walking a standard way to connect, reflect, and collaborate professionally.
Role Overview
As an Urban Walker, you will take Walkr's calls, meetings, and brainstorming sessions outdoors within cities possessing ample walkable areas. This position serves as an in-person test case to understand and enhance the product, combining walking with work interactions on foot.
Responsibilities
- Participate in scheduled calls and one-on-ones while walking, using Walkr to identify and coordinate these sessions.
- Document experiences regarding audio quality, walking routes, weather conditions, pacing, and how conversations differ without screen use.
- Provide direct feedback to the product team, joining them virtually on the street to influence feature development.
- Explore and map pedestrian-friendly routes near company hubs for team use.
- Occasionally represent Walkr in walking meetings with external partners, media, or early adopters.
Candidate Profile
- Resides or is willing to relocate to a city featuring truly walkable locations such as parks, canals, quiet streets, and well-maintained sidewalks.
- Comfortable holding attentive and focused conversations while walking—this is a critical skill.
- Organized enough to manage a calendar packed with outdoor meetings and flexible enough to adapt scheduling due to weather, meetings, or life events.
- Genuinely curious about behavioral change, habitual patterns, and environmental impact on cognitive processes.
- Bonus: Regular walker with personal insights and opinions about walking.
Purpose and Benefits
Unlike most organizations that promote well-being but confine employees to indoor seated meetings, this unique role exists to disprove the skepticism that walking meetings are impractical. This position requires the job to prove that walking meetings can be successful.
- Get paid to actively use the product you are shaping.
- Have direct influence over future product developments.
- Flexible scheduling aligned with daylight availability and optimal city walking routes.
- Opportunity to genuinely call yourself a "Professional Walker" on your CV.
