Upholstery Technician

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and service upholstered table surrounds and layouts across all areas within the Marina Bay Sands complex.
• Adapt work processes to enhance operational efficiency, especially focusing on reducing downtime for Slot and Table Games.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting shipments of materials, equipment, and layout orders to ensure alignment with purchase order specifications.
• Perform quality control and layout inspections in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support disposal of outdated or unapproved layouts responsibly.
• Provide assistance in carpentry modifications related to gaming tables when necessary.
• Contribute to assignments and special projects as needed to maintain smooth departmental operations and minimize downtime.
• Execute all responsibilities following Marina Bay Sands’ policies, vision, mission, and values.
• Carry out other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed ITE certification or an equivalent technical qualification.
• At least three years of hands-on experience as an upholsterer, preferably in furniture manufacturing or hospitality furniture repair.
• Previous experience working within Engineering or Facilities departments related to upholstery services.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient in diverse upholstery techniques and practices.
• Understanding of fabric types and characteristics.
• Skilled in operating various equipment, including portable hand-sewing machines, nail guns, hobnail and tack hammers, hot-knife cutters, and other industrial tools.
• Familiarity with basic soft furniture frame construction and repair methods.
