Tree Seed Production Supervisor

About Farm Solutions Ltd and the Role

Farm Solutions Ltd is expanding its tree and shrub seed supply operations across Ireland. To support this growth, we are recruiting a Tree Seed Production Supervisor responsible for overseeing tree seed activities nationwide. This role involves evaluating collection sites, coordinating with seed collectors and landowners, ensuring compliance with seed legislation and health & safety protocols, as well as managing order processing and logistics to guarantee timely seed deliveries. Extensive training will be provided in England, while the position is primarily Ireland-based.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with existing seed collectors to assess and select appropriate seed collection sites each season.
• Travel throughout Ireland to identify and secure new collection sites for various tree species.
• Engage with landowners to obtain necessary permissions and liaise with authorities to ensure legal compliance.
• Ensure availability and suitability of vehicles and equipment to support effective seed collection operations.
• Organize and supervise on-site activities, including equipment inspections, team coordination, and conducting dynamic risk assessments.
• Participate actively in fieldwork, including seed collection, and provide team supervision as required.
• Process collected seeds promptly to maintain operational schedules.
• Serve as the main contact for customers and landowners to ensure clear understanding and fulfillment of their expectations.
• Foster solid relationships via professional and proactive communication.
• Oversee customer order processing with accurate documentation and collaborate with logistics providers for on-time deliveries.
• Receive and inspect seed deliveries from collectors and international suppliers, ensuring correct paperwork and proper storage.
• Maintain thorough records of inventory movements and report any stock or delivery issues promptly.
• Support daily operations aligning with company goals and assist in maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment ensuring safe use.
• Document daily activities including timekeeping, site information, and customer feedback.
• Report safety concerns, logistical delays, or customer issues to management diligently.

Working Conditions

• Regular travel across Ireland with occasional trips to England for training and coordination purposes.
• Outdoor engagements in diverse weather and terrain conditions requiring physical effort such as lifting and walking.
• Potential overnight stays or extended periods away from base during peak collections.
• Seasonal workload fluctuations requiring adaptability and commitment.
• Possession of a valid full UK or Irish driving licence is mandatory.

Applicant Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in customer service or operational field roles is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive and professional attitude toward relationship management.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and effective time management.
• Comfortable operating in outdoor, sometimes remote, locations and managing logistical aspects of sites.
• Basic understanding of order documentation and freight coordination processes.
• Must hold a valid full UK or Irish driving licence.
