About the Role
Join UnitedHealth Group's Optum division, a global leader in integrating healthcare and technology, committed to improving the health and wellbeing of millions around the world. This position is based in Dublin, Ireland within the Global Intelligence Operations (GIO) - Intelligence Operations Center (IOC). You will play a vital role supporting the Country Security Operations Center (CSOC) by continuously monitoring, assessing, and coordinating travel-related activities and incidents affecting employees and executives globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep track of worldwide employee and executive travel using authorized traveler tracking and security platforms in real time.
- Maintain awareness of global security, political, environmental, and operational events that could influence traveler safety or mobility.
- Assess unfolding incidents affecting moving traveler groups, whose locations and risks can shift rapidly.
- Identify potentially impacted travelers and initiate proper notifications or escalate issues as necessary.
- Process, categorize, and document travel alerts, advisories, and system notifications following established protocols.
- Support high-profile traveler movements through enhanced oversight and coordination during heightened risk situations.
- Collaborate with Executive Protection, Event Security, regional security partners, and CSOC colleagues during routine and emergency scenarios.
- Assist with traveler communications, including outreach and location verification, as directed.
- Provide accurate traveler status updates and contextual information to support incident responses and escalations.
- Maintain clear, timely, and auditable records of travel monitoring, alerts, and incidents.
- Participate in structured shift handovers to maintain operational continuity and awareness.
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks during periods of intensified activity.
- Escalate issues outside established procedures or risk thresholds to senior staff or leadership promptly.
- This is an in-person position located at the Country Security Operations Center (CSOC) in Dublin.
- Work daytime shifts aligned to a global follow-the-sun model, coordinating with international teams to ensure 24/7 operational coverage, including weekends.
- Typical working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM during summer (Irish Time) and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM during winter months.
- Operate within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment demanding sustained focus and quick responsiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Experience or relevant academic background in a security operations center, intelligence, emergency management, international relations, or related areas; internships may be considered.
- Ability to quickly analyze large volumes of information and extract time-critical and actionable insights.
- Strong written communication skills capable of succinctly summarizing complex, real-time situations.
- Capacity to maintain composure, attention to detail, and focus during intense and fast-paced operational scenarios.
- Able to effectively work in a shift rotation supporting continuous 24/7 operations.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent tasks.
- Familiarity with OSINT sources, social media monitoring, and situational awareness tools.
- Proficient in standard office software, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
