Job description
Overview
Kinaxia Logistics Limited is seeking a Transport Planner to join their Colchester team. The primary goal of this position is to plan and execute collection and delivery schedules in the most cost-effective way, aligned with company objectives, customer service standards, and current legal regulations.
Working Hours and Schedule
- Workdays: Monday through Saturday, with one Saturday per month required
- Standard hours: 09:30 to 18:30
- Total weekly hours: 45
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary of 35,000

Core Responsibilities
- Maximize use of IT systems, Transport Management Systems (TMS), and customer portals for optimal fleet and employee deployment
- Ensure accurate allocation of drivers, vehicles, trailers, deliveries, and backloads
- Coordinate with the Workshop for vehicle and trailer availability while incorporating service schedules and addressing potential risks
- Effectively communicate plans to the transport team to maintain efficiency and high customer service standards
- Manage staffing levels, including agency personnel, to meet operational demand
- Maintain regular communication with customers to understand and support their scheduling needs
- Coordinate handovers among team members and key stakeholders, especially during operational delays
- Plan and control next-day deliveries, provide quotes and rates, and process customer bookings ensuring their expectations are met
- Participate in teamwork and cross-training to provide coverage during absences
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance business operations
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of the Highway Code, EU tachograph rules, Working Time Regulations, and road transport laws
- Experience with transport operation management systems
- Strong geographical awareness
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to transport
- Relevant experience in transport planning and logistics problem-solving
