Panel Technician

About the Role

An established automotive firm based in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Panel Technician to join their expanding team in a permanent, full-time capacity. This role involves repairing and restoring vehicle bodywork damaged by accidents, ensuring all vehicles are returned to their original condition with high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed panel repairs on various vehicle types.
• Evaluate accident damage to determine best repair techniques and methods.
• Repair, replace, and correctly align damaged body panels.
• Conduct welding and structural repairs as necessary.
• Operate specialized bodyshop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure proper fitting and alignment of panels according to standards.
• Collaborate closely with MET and Paint Technicians during the repair process.
• Complete repairs following manufacturer guidelines and industry expectations.
• Accurately fill out job cards and repair documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Panel Technician, Panel Beater, or Body Repair Technician.
• Solid knowledge of vehicle body repair methods and accident damage restoration.
• Good comprehension of vehicle structural frameworks and repair protocols.
• Ability to consistently deliver high-quality and efficient repairs.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on finishing standards.
• Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Preferred: possession of relevant bodyshop qualifications.
• Must hold a full UK driving license.
