About the Role
Join Sysco Ireland, the country's leading foodservice supplier, as a Transport Clerk at the New Ross depot in Tasmania. This role supports the smooth operation and expansion of the organisation by ensuring all transport and administrative duties are managed efficiently while keeping customer satisfaction central to daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all depot activities to ensure the efficient dispatch of delivery routes and products each day.
- Adhere to delivery procedures, company policies, and regulatory compliance standards at all times.
- Collect, verify, and process all driver paperwork including signed invoices and returns, and distribute to relevant departments post-shift.
- Maintain accurate records of driver paperwork discrepancies and monitor inventory for incoming, outgoing, and backhaul goods.
- Collaborate closely with Operations Supervision and management teams to promptly resolve concerns.
- Motivate and coach the delivery team to maintain high service standards.
- Assess driver performance by accompanying delivery routes and ensuring company vehicle maintenance, safety, and cleanliness to minimise breakdowns and accidents.
- Maintain the depot premises to the highest standards and enforce security, health, and safety protocol compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in the food distribution sector preferred.
- Proficient with IT systems, notably Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong understanding of Department of Transport regulations such as Tachograph legislation and Work Time Directive, along with HACCP safety guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate, and motivate teams effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail, independent decision-making ability, and organizational skills with capacity to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communicator with capability to explain and enforce company policies clearly.
- Analytical mindset to promptly identify and solve problems.
