Job description

Position Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled and organised Transport Allocator to join their busy logistics and transport team in Minchinbury, New South Wales. This role involves managing daily transport activities, including driver and vehicle allocation, to ensure deliveries are conducted safely, efficiently, and punctually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and assign daily transport runs for both metropolitan and regional deliveries.
  • Coordinate the deployment of drivers, vehicles, and routes to optimize efficiency and vehicle use.
  • Track delivery timing and proactively handle any delays or operational challenges.
  • Maintain consistent communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Update and manage transport management systems and delivery records.
  • Address and resolve customer service concerns related to deliveries and collections.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in transport operations.
  • Assist with driver scheduling, fleet usage analysis, and preparation of operational reports.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in roles such as Transport Allocator, Transport Coordinator, or Fleet Coordinator in logistics.
  • Thorough understanding of transport operations, route planning, and scheduling techniques.
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility requirements and relevant transport legislation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Capability to collaborate in a team setting while managing multiple priorities.
