About the Role
We are seeking a Translation Memory Administrator based in Mumbai to manage and maintain the translation memory assets critical to ensuring high-quality delivery and cost-effective program management. You will be responsible for overseeing translation memory instances spanning sixteen language pairs, ensuring that only approved content is integrated into the master memory, and performing rigorous audits and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage translation memory instances by handling import/export activities, enforcing penalty rules, and maintaining domain separation.
- Control the approval process to ensure only reviewed and authorized content is incorporated into the master translation memory.
- Execute regular maintenance cycles, including identifying duplicates, resolving conflicts, retiring outdated content, and auditing metadata.
- Assess and qualify translation memories inherited from other suppliers by ensuring technical compliance, conducting content audits, cleaning, and benchmarking.
- Provide detailed reports on memory health by analyzing trends, match distributions, duplicate and conflict rates, and the completeness of metadata.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience working with translation memories in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of TMX format, match categories, penalty rules, and leverage analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills to meticulously evaluate what content should be included or excluded from the translation memory.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cleaning or migrating legacy translation memories between different tools.
- Familiarity with SQL or scripting languages for conducting detailed memory analysis.
Compensation and Location
This full-time position is based onsite in Mumbai, with an annual salary ranging between ₹700,000 and ₹1,200,000, commensurate with experience and current compensation.
