Job description
About the Role
Microsoft Frontier Company is pioneering enterprise transformation by integrating agentic AI, expansive cloud computing, data, simulations, and human expertise to help clients achieve measurable business outcomes. As organizations reinvent their work across industries such as financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, public sector, and R&D, they require partners adept in both business and technology to convert strategic ambitions into practical, governed, and economically viable solutions. This role involves steering customer outcomes, guiding delivery orchestration, and developing scalable transformational frameworks.
We seek a Principal Transformation Partner who exhibits executive presence and leadership in defining and navigating innovative, complex transformation initiatives. You will engage with business and technology leaders, account teams, industry experts, and Microsoft product engineering to direct high-impact scenarios and convert strategic aspirations into actionable transformation blueprints. Operating within and often leading a multidisciplinary Transformation Squad, you act as a crucial liaison among business objectives, AI-native operational models, and Microsoft technologies throughout the lifecycle from pre-sales to delivery, standardizing effective methods to replicate these transformations at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer engagement by serving as a trusted advisor, managing vision continuity from inception through delivery for complex transformation opportunities.
- Translate strategic business ambitions into executable transformation plans detailing redesigned business processes, operating models, and human-agent workflows linked to measurable results.
- Collaborate across teams in defining AI-native human-agent operating models and crafting seamless experiences that promote adoption and new work paradigms.
- Coordinate cross-functional Microsoft teams, setting squad composition and sequencing capabilities through pre-sales and delivery phases, often leading the core triad within Frontier Company.
- Develop standardized engagement approaches for pioneering transformation initiatives, incorporating AI maturity assessments, innovative ideation, and rapid prototyping to create conviction in AI-enabled operating models.
- Gather and integrate diverse customer and partner insights to adapt business models and solutions accordingly.
- Advocate for customers using data-driven insights to inform enhancements in Microsoft technologies and offerings to better fulfill client needs.
- Define architectural directions focused on business outcomes, guiding delivery and platform architects to ensure each technical component contributes measurable value.
- Maintain ownership of value hypotheses and validate baseline and target KPIs to establish strong causal links between AI-driven workflows and business results.
- Supervise proofs of concept and MVPs executed by technical experts, validating unit economics including token economics for scalable, viable solutions.
- Ensure success criteria align with value-driven outcomes rather than just technical outputs, collaborating closely with stakeholders for acceptance and constraint management.
- Craft cost-effective solution strategies balancing existing and novel approaches, orchestrating development from Enterprise AI Platforms through to live operations.
- Anticipate and resolve pre-sales and delivery barriers by coordinating specialists and escalating risks only when organization-wide impacts occur.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Account Teams to identify, categorize, and mitigate risks, establishing contingency plans.
- Lead practice innovation by creating intellectual property and reusable assets that extend beyond initial engagements and promote recommended practices.
- Build and utilize a senior network to influence executives and principal stakeholders, resolving strategic challenges and aligning diverse organizations.
- Employ evidence-based communication to challenge suboptimal decisions and uphold the role of "technical conscience" in maintaining quality and realistic expectations.
- Understand competitive solutions and articulate Microsoft’s unique value propositions in customer discussions.
- Contribute thought leadership through sharing insights within virtual teams and participating in external architecture community events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline with over 8 years of experience in business and technology transformation, including consulting, digital and AI solution designing, or relevant technical domains. Demonstrated capability to lead discussions across both business and technical aspects.
- Alternatively, Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent professional experience considered.
