About Wynn Al Marjan Island
Slated to open in 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island is a luxurious beachfront resort in the United Arab Emirates featuring 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 dining venues, a theatre, nightclub, and a five-star spa, situated on a scenic island reaching into the Arabian Gulf, under construction less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
Role Overview
We are recruiting a Training Manager for Beverage within the Food & Beverage division to lead and enhance the resort's beverage education programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the vision, mission, and strategic direction for the Beverage Academy, ensuring alignment with the resort's luxury service standards.
- Serve as a brand representative to attract top beverage talent and promote Wynn as an employer of choice.
- Lead and motivate a varied team of trainers and beverage experts delivering high-quality education.
- Design and manage extensive training curricula encompassing wines, spirits, cocktails, beer, coffee, tea, water services, and responsible alcohol practices.
- Introduce specialized advancement modules for roles such as bartenders, supervisors, sommeliers, and beverage leadership.
- Embed Forbes Travel Guide benchmarks and guest experience standards into all beverage training materials, ensuring adherence to global luxury service norms.
- Collaborate with HR and Learning & Development to weave beverage training into career advancement paths.
- Continuously refresh training contents to integrate worldwide beverage trends, product innovations, and Wynn Resorts’ evolving standards.
- Coach beverage teams to consistently display Forbes-level service traits such as personalization and anticipation.
- Maintain beverage training SOPs, standards, and teaching resources for uniformity and operational efficiency.
- Track training program effectiveness on beverage quality, guest satisfaction, sales, and workforce development.
- Mentor beverage staff across Wynn properties to cultivate leadership talent.
- Establish cross-departmental training connections with bars, restaurants, lounges, room service, and event teams.
- Provide ongoing evaluations and feedback to trainees to promote their growth.
- Support beverage menu and concept formulation alongside property leaders and operational teams.
- Champion best practices in cellar management, handling, storage, stock rotation, and presentation.
- Ensure all training adheres to food safety, hygiene, alcohol service responsibility, and company policies.
- Coordinate guest bartender events, supplier-led masterclasses, tastings, and partnerships with beverage institutions.
- Manage the beverage training budget, ensuring cost-efficient yet top-tier training operations.
- Measure the return on investment of training initiatives regarding sales improvement, knowledge, operational consistency, and guest experience.
- Comply with Wynn Resorts’ finance and reporting policies.
- Contribute to enhancing guest satisfaction, consistent beverage quality, and service innovation across Wynn Resorts.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 8 to 10 years of escalating beverage leadership experience, including roles in senior bar management, sommelier duties, beverage operations, or training within luxury hotels, resorts, or hospitality institutions.
- Familiarity with Forbes Travel Guide audits or similar luxury benchmark assessments is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in wine, spirits, cocktails, coffee, tea, and luxury beverage services.
- Strong experience in crafting beverage training programs and talent development.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, presentation, and communication abilities in multicultural teams.
- Preferred professional beverage certifications from recognized bodies, with additional credentials in wine, spirits, coffee, or responsible alcohol service considered beneficial.
- Commercially aware with the capacity to link training outcomes to service excellence, guest experiences, and revenue goals.
- Innovative and passionate about current beverage trends, product knowledge, sustainability, and exemplary service.
