Opportunity Overview
As a Trainee in Improvement Process, you will engage in a structured 6-month rotation across various functions to deepen your understanding of our organizational operations. This program is designed to accelerate your growth and integration within the company by providing hands-on experience through shadowing, training, and mentorship. You will develop a strong technical mindset, analytical skills, and an innovative approach to enhance processes. Building solid relationships with colleagues and stakeholders is essential, along with embodying our core values of safety and integrity. Typically, after about twelve months, the trainee is expected to achieve proficiency in their role.
Impact and Contribution
You will support our Continuous Improvement team by applying Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other process optimization techniques. The role aims to cultivate your analytical and problem-solving skills while you contribute to improvements in productivity, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and safety. Practical experience will be gained in data analysis, process mapping, root cause investigations, and executing projects that drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions.
- Participate in projects targeting enhancements in productivity, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Collect, validate, and document project-related data.
- Perform process mapping and value stream mapping exercises to identify waste and bottlenecks.
- Support implementation of standardized work and process optimization strategies.
- Monitor the effectiveness and sustainability of improvement actions.
- Analyze operational data and develop KPI dashboards and reports.
- Provide trend analysis and insights during performance reviews.
- Maintain project tracking tools and improvement databases.
- Engage in problem-solving activities using PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, and A3 methodologies.
- Help investigate root causes and support corrective action implementation.
- Contribute to Lean awareness, training sessions, Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and workshops.
- Assist in Lean Six Sigma certification activities and project assessments.
- Maintain proper documentation including lessons learned, work instructions, SOPs, and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to company quality, safety, and environmental policies.
- Comply with internal and external regulations and guidelines.
- Embody the company’s values by taking responsibility for personal actions and demonstrating care for colleagues and operations.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related disciplines.
- Recent graduate with foundational knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, data analysis, problem-solving, and documentation practices.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Arabic languages.
