Role Overview

We are seeking a Trade Sales team member to join our dynamic New Plymouth branch. This role combines trade counter customer service with inventory duties, including cycle counts, order picking, and assisting in various branch activities, ensuring a fast-paced and engaging work environment.

This position is ideal for individuals with plumbing, trade experience, or a background in trades who prefer to transition from hands-on roles while maintaining industry ties. Practical knowledge alongside customer service skills will be highly valued in supporting customers and the team.

The position offers full-time employment of 42.5 hours weekly from Monday to Friday, including Saturday shifts on a rostered basis. Exact working hours will be finalized during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service at the trade counter, assisting customers promptly and professionally.
• Support inventory management activities such as cycle counting, stocking, picking, and packing customer orders.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain smooth branch operations across multiple functions.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and overall business success.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Demonstrate a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
• Experience or interest in plumbing or trade sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong customer service and sales skills with attention to detail in administrative tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure using logical problem-solving skills.
• Physical capability to handle lifting tasks up to 20 kilograms.
• Proficient in computer use.
• Possess a valid, clean New Zealand driver’s license.
• Forklift license is advantageous but not required.
• Maintain professional appearance and excellent interpersonal communication.
