Trade Counter Sales Assistant

Job Purpose

This full-time, permanent role focuses on delivering expert product knowledge specifically in building materials and plumbing supplies to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with product suppliers.
• Provide outstanding customer support, both in-person at the counter and over the phone, addressing all inquiries.
• Prepare accurate product quotations for customers.
• Utilize the company's proprietary IT software system for sales and inventory management.
• Manage collection processes for customer orders.
• Perform various additional tasks as needed to satisfy business objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in product merchandising, ensuring professional presentation of merchandise.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain merchandising standards, including correct labelling, pricing accuracy, and organized product placement.
• Competency in computer usage.
• Personable and approachable demeanor.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
• Sales experience in trade and retail environments is beneficial.
