Our client, a vibrant and expanding town planning consultancy located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Queensland, specializes in diverse development projects across Queensland. The firm prides itself on delivering pragmatic, commercially sound, and solution-driven planning advice.

Role Summary

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Town Planner to enhance their expertise within a hands-on consultancy setting. Working closely with seasoned senior planners and directors, the successful candidate will contribute to all stages of the development approval process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial planning and development assessments;
  • Assist with the preparation of development applications;
  • Interpret and review planning schemes, relevant legislation, and policies;
  • Perform research, analysis, and due diligence related to planning;
  • Prepare planning reports, correspondence, and other necessary documentation;
  • Collaborate with clients, local councils, and other project consultants;
  • Support senior planners and directors handling complex development issues;
  • Manage workload effectively to meet project deadlines and budget constraints;
  • Devise practical, commercially viable solutions to planning and development challenges.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a degree in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or a comparable planning qualification;
  • Familiarity with Queensland’s planning legislation and schemes;
  • Excellent written and oral communication capabilities;
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills;
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with clients, consultants, and team members;
  • Effective organizational and time management skills;
  • Practical mindset and eagerness to learn and grow;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communication.
