Job description
Overview
As a Total Store Sanitation Representative, your primary focus will be to uphold cleanliness and safety standards throughout the entire store premises, both indoors and outdoors, while ensuring customers have a welcoming experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the store’s overall cleanliness and safety promptly and efficiently, covering areas such as floors, windows, break rooms, and restrooms.
- Ensure that department hand wash stations remain stocked with essential supplies like paper towels, soap, and sanitizer.
- Perform trash collection and debris removal in outside areas, including flower beds and the store’s yard.
- Properly utilize the H-E-B chemical program and organize maintenance room stock correctly.
- Empty and clean trash containers across the store and within various departments.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures to meet food safety and sanitation criteria.
- Communicate any maintenance issues or suggestions effectively to Store Leadership.
- Engage with customers courteously, assist them in locating products, and fulfill duties of a Customer Service Assistant as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent credential.
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines.
- Proficiency in bagging skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to act proactively and manage competing priorities.
- Customer service orientation and capability to attend to customer needs.
- Completion of company-specific orientation programs and safety certifications upon hiring, including Annual Food Handler and basic HAZMAT/Chemical Safety.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Job requires frequent walking and reaching at waist level, grasping, and pushing or pulling with arms.
- Often bending, occasional sitting, standing, reaching overhead, at shoulder, knee, floor level; stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, stair and ladder climbing, pivoting, twisting, pinching, and fine motor movements.
- Infrequent exposure to cold, ambient temperatures, loud noise, and wet conditions.
- Ability to safely lift and handle objects up to 50 pounds or more, with the responsibility to break down heavier items or request help.
