Overnight Stocker - Full Time at Abilene Grocery

Job Overview

Join the team as a Night Stocker in the Grocery or Drug Store department, working closely with colleagues to achieve shared objectives and adapting to the unique overnight work routine. Key Responsibilities

• Replenish shelves and restock product displays.
• Handle loading, unloading, and movement of heavy, bulky items; may assist with truck unloading.
• Maintain product presentation and shelf conditions.
• Develop and apply product knowledge with attention to rotation dates and labeling to meet department quality standards.
• Keep department areas including stock rooms and shelves clean and organized.
• Follow established standard operating procedures and leadership guidance diligently.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Work productively with a cooperative team approach.
• Accept feedback constructively and apply improvements in future tasks.
• Possibly provide training or coaching to other stockers.
• Collaborate across departments, including customer-facing roles such as Curbside service.
• Deliver friendly and knowledgeable customer service by assisting customers in finding products and answering questions.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Preferred experience includes stocking and customer service roles.
• Previous physical labor experience is advantageous.
• Ability to understand and follow emergency procedures and stocking guidelines.
• Strong communication, reading, and writing skills.
• Effective organizational and time management capabilities.
• Customer-oriented with the ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and heavy lifting.
• Adaptability and quick thinking in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player capable of meeting overnight operational goals.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with close attention to detail.
• Commitment to personal discipline in adhering to procedures and leadership instructions.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Training & Certifications

Forklift and power jack operation training will be provided after hiring.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This role demands work in a fast-moving store environment requiring attention to detail. Physical activities vary by department:

• Grocery: Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching at various levels; ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and over 100 lbs occasionally; exposure to cold, noise, and damp conditions.
• Drugstore: Frequent standing and walking; occasional bending and reaching at different heights; ability to lift 66 lbs and manage over 50 lbs; exposure to ambient conditions.
• Dairy: Constant exposure to cold; frequent standing and walking; occasional bending and reaching; ability to lift 86 lbs and manage over 100 lbs; similar environmental conditions.
• Frozen: Constant cold exposure; frequent standing and walking; occasional bending and reaching; able to lift 60 lbs and over 100 lbs; noisy and wet conditions possible.
• General Merchandise: Frequent standing, walking, bending; occasional reaching and climbing ladders; able to lift and manage 60 lbs; exposure to ambient conditions and noise.

"Constantly" refers to activities performed more than 5.5 hours per 8-hour shift; "Frequently" to 2.5–5.5 hours; "Occasionally" to less than 2.5 hours. Partners should never exceed their safe lifting limits and ask for help or break down loads as needed.
