Position Overview

The Toolmaker plays a critical role by adhering to a planned maintenance schedule while providing continuous technical support to production around the clock. This role requires strong collaboration with Production, Quality, and Engineering/Electrical teams but also demands the ability to work independently. Prioritization of tasks in coordination with the Lead Toolmaker is essential to meet shift and project needs, while fully complying with plant Health and Safety regulations.

This position is a day shift role involving a 12-hour shift pattern from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm as per a defined schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Strictly follow all environmental, health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on operational equipment.
• Respond swiftly to minimize production downtime; collaborate with Shift Managers and operational staff to reduce press stoppages.
• Diagnose faults and implement long-term solutions by investigating recurring downtime and using database systems like PM11 for data analysis.
• Ensure production support is available 24/7 to meet manufacturing demands.
• Contribute actively to achieving plant targets for environment, health, safety, and hygiene.
• Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all safety guards and equipment are properly reinstated after interventions before machine restart.
• Partner with various departments to meet overall plant and business goals.
• Maintain, repair, and investigate machine breakdowns, focusing particularly on auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Electrical teams to optimize plant performance.
• Participate in the plant Safety Committee.
• Meet key performance indicators and related targets.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of one year of progressive experience in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline.
• Possession of a recognized Toolmaker qualification.
• Strong hands-on technical and practical skills.
• Good knowledge of material properties.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Work Environment and Additional Information

This position requires full on-site attendance at our Waterford facility. The role follows a shift pattern with 12-hour day shifts from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Compensation and Benefits: The salary for this role is 86,332 EUR gross annually. The position is eligible for participation in Ball’s annual incentive compensation program.
