About the Company
Magnaplast Technologies India Private Limited is operating in the Automotive, Engineering, Polymer, and Precision Manufacturing industries with specialization in Injection Moulding.
Role Summary
We seek a seasoned Tool Engineer to oversee injection mould management and production tooling tasks including new mould development, maintenance routines, trials, troubleshooting and enhancements aimed at improving tool performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage development, upkeep, and alteration of injection moulds.
- Design and implement preventive maintenance schedules for moulds and tools.
- Identify and resolve issues related to mould operations such as flash, incomplete shots, warpage, sink marks, ejection problems, and dimensional inaccuracies.
- Support trials for new moulds and execute necessary tool corrections.
- Track tool lifespan, availability, and incidents of breakdowns.
- Liaise closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Design units.
- Work with external vendors for tool creation and repair tasks.
- Provide expertise in insert moulding, over-moulding, and precision tooling.
- Validate tooling adherence to design specifications and production standards.
- Drive initiatives to extend tool life, minimize rejections and downtime, and optimize costs.
- Maintain detailed records for tool history, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and modifications.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Injection Moulding and tool room operations.
- Hands-on experience in mould maintenance, troubleshooting defects, and modifying tools effectively.
- Working knowledge of CNC machines, EDM, Wire EDM, grinding techniques, and fitting processes.
- Competency in interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems and mould design is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and vendor management capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a shop-floor setting and perform under production pressures.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates with experience in Automotive Components, Engineering Plastics, Injection Moulding, Magnetic Components, Insert Moulding, or Precision Manufacturing sectors are highly preferred.
