Role Summary
The Therapeutic Area Partner (TAP) for Hematology located in Jeddah plays a crucial field-based role by enabling scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals (HCPs) in hematology. The TAP serves as the main liaison for HCPs, providing impactful, timely, and scientifically accurate engagements. The position involves building relationships not only with treating physicians but also with clinical pharmacists, HEOR specialists, multidisciplinary teams, and other relevant stakeholders. This role supports the safe and appropriate use of Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) products, aiming to meet organizational goals while upholding BMS values. The TAP will dedicate at least 90% of their time engaging directly in the field with healthcare providers through various scientific interactions and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand a deep understanding of disease awareness and treatment landscapes within hematology.
- Gather and analyze extensive clinical data to deliver actionable insights for internal strategy development.
- Map healthcare professionals within the territory and identify knowledge or care gaps to design and implement educational programs.
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan aligned with metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and deliver accurate scientific presentations to HCPs, addressing inquiries and maintaining medical precision.
- Proactively communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals supporting approved indications and respond to unsolicited scientific questions using approved resources.
- Keep abreast of emerging clinical evidence related to BMS products and contribute meaningful medical insights internally.
- Develop hospital mapping and understand patient journeys to identify access barriers; facilitate formulary inclusion of products.
- Collaborate with key HCPs across healthcare institutions to enable timely patient access and formulary enlistment for approved therapies.
- Effectively communicate scientific and economic value of BMS products, including delivering health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) information to stakeholders such as government agencies and healthcare organizations.
- Build strong partnerships with both internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to understand and address challenges within complex healthcare access environments.
- Align activities and plans with cross-functional teams and execute scientifically meaningful disease and product-related programs.
- Foster a culture of ethical conduct and compliance by adhering to all internal and external regulations, reporting any concerns promptly, and serving as a compliance role model.
Required Competencies
- Advanced scientific knowledge capable of interpreting and communicating complex clinical data effectively to healthcare professionals.

- Capacity to function efficiently within a matrix organizational structure by collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- In-depth understanding of the healthcare system and patient access challenges within Saudi Arabia.
- Strong skills in interpersonal communication, negotiation, and strategic decision-making.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
Educational & Licensing Requirements
- Degree in Pharmacy with relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience; possession of a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Valid license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
- This position is exclusively open to Saudi nationals.
Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a scientific role within the pharmaceutical industry is required.
- Prior experience in hematology is preferred.
