Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Theatre Scheduler to join the team at KIMS Hospital, Maidstone. This role involves managing theatre bookings efficiently to support medical secretaries, consultants, NHS contract teams, and various hospital departments. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused and keen on contributing to high-quality healthcare delivery.
Working Hours and Location
This position requires working 37.5 hours per week spread over 4 days between Monday and Saturday, within the timeframe of 08:00 to 18:00. The role is based onsite at KIMS Hospital in Kent, England.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage theatre booking slots responsibly, coordinating with consultants, medical secretaries, and hospital departments.
- Ensure all booking paperwork is complete and clinic letters or pertinent information accompany booking forms.
- Collaborate with Theatre leads, Billing, and Finance teams for procedural cost assessments prior to confirming bookings.
- Facilitate effective communications among Medical Secretarial Department, consultants, patients, and families.
- Provide non-clinical updates to patients and relatives, including notifications about operation cancellations.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of GCSE level education or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal oversight as well as part of a team.
- Strong organizational aptitude and effective time management skills.
Desirable Attributes:
- Possession of a secretarial qualification.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications or equivalent, and experience maintaining administrative or secretarial systems.
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary for this role is £28,560.
