Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly, half-yearly, and annual environmental compliance reports to the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, aligning with Consent for Operation requirements.
• Ensure timely submission of annual returns to the Department of Factories and fulfill all statutory documentation duties.
• Obtain necessary permit-to-work certifications, respond promptly to any legal notices, and maintain thorough regulatory compliance records.
• Conduct job safety analyses, identify hazards, and perform risk assessments to manage workplace safety proactively across various departments.
• Organize safety training through meetings, workshops, and emergency drills to educate employees and contractors on safety, health, and environmental protocols.
• Implement and update standard operating procedures for safe operations, maintain OSHA 18001 manuals, and coordinate safety audits for internal and external parties.
• Oversee wastewater and hazardous waste management processes, ensuring adherence to Zero Liquid Discharge standards.
• Monitor environmental factors such as air quality, emissions, noise, wastewater, and soil to detect anomalies and implement corrective measures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Science (preferably Chemistry), Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Mandatory diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by State or Central Pollution Control Boards.
• At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing sectors.

Skills and Attributes

• Competence in accident analysis, contractor safety management, emergency response planning, fire safety protocols, and functional safety assessments.
• Expertise in safety monitoring, site inspections, accident prevention, incident reporting, root cause analysis, vendor management, and maintaining workplace safety.
• Strong regulatory focus to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail for accuracy in reporting and audit processes.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to incidents, legal notices, and implement corrective actions promptly.

Critical Experience Areas

• Proven exposure to handling safety incidents, emergency responses, near-miss event reporting, and conducting safety inspections and drills.
• Experience with operating and maintaining safety systems, including fire hydrants, gas detectors, eye wash stations, and leading regular safety campaigns.
