Termite Technician

Overview

As a Termite Technician, you will be instrumental in protecting our customers' homes and properties from damage caused by wood-destroying insects. Your role involves thorough inspections, treatments, and preventive measures to ensure customer peace of mind while safeguarding their investment.

General Responsibilities

• Diagnose termite infestations by understanding termite behaviors to decide effective remedial actions.
• Carry out termite treatment procedures safely in line with company protocols and industry best practices.
• Apply anti-termite solutions to structures on a scheduled basis strictly following safety guidelines and product instructions.
• Educate customers on unfavorable conditions that encourage termite activity and discuss supplementary treatments or structural modifications.
• Confirm work order details correctly match job specifications before proceeding.
• Operate, maintain, and ensure service vehicles and equipment are in good working order.
• Document all work by completing production forms to record services provided.
• Communicate effectively with customers, explaining treatments delivered and answering queries.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Ability to endure diverse environmental circumstances, including seasonal changes and working in damp or dusty areas.
• Prepare treatment sites adequately prior to pest control procedures.
• Comfortable entering and exiting varied structures, climbing ladders and stairs, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights up to 20 feet.
• Experience or willingness to perform related tasks such as carpentry, cement work, roofing, gutter maintenance, or attic work is advantageous.
• Expect significant physical activity including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing scaffolding or poles during work.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment like approved respirators and work in tight spaces where pests reside.

Required Qualifications

• Clean-shaven face to ensure proper fit of safety respirators.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED credential.
• Valid driver's license from the state of residence is mandatory.
• At least one year of customer service experience; previous termite control experience is a positive.
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skills.
• Flexibility to work Monday through Friday and on some Saturdays as necessary.
• Must obtain any required licenses and certificates mandated by federal, state, or local authorities; company assistance provided for these.
• Basic mathematical proficiency, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing across different units and decimals for product mixing instructions.
